Today I had my last official tutoring session with Maria and Eduardo. We mainly went over the verb tenses. Maria has some difficulty with the tenses. I think part of her confusion is that she doesn’t know how to conjugates certain verbs. We went over regular verbs and I explained to her that you just add an ‘s’ for the third person singular preset, ‘ed’ for past tense, and ‘will’ for future tenses. This helped her a little bit. However, I told her she might want to go back to memorize irregular verbs, because she sometimes gets those mixed up. We did a lot of practice with the simple tenses and perfect tenses. It took some time but now she gets that even though future perfect is a future tense, it is talking about something that will finish in the future.
I have really enjoyed working with Maria and Eduardo. They are both great to tutor and want to improve their English. They’re super nice and we plan on hanging out again even after this over. This has been a great experience!
