Briggs TP#16

Santiago and I met for breakfast at Jim & Milt's. I asked him how his presentation went and he told me he had received an 'A' and had been promoted to level 4. This pleased me greatly! Santiago is a good student and receives error correction well; as it showed in the progression of his speech from the first day to the next. He has excellent listening skills and it showed throughout our sessions. We discussed grits and American breakfasts. He confided in me that he was really impressed with how friendly the south is in his perception. I smiled (being a southerner) and we proceeded to discuss the differences between southern and northern culture; first about the states, and then worldwide. Santiago planned to travel to New Orleans and New York after classes concluded. I gave him the names of cheap, good hostels in both cities and suggested some places to visit in both cities.
