On Wednesday, March fourth, I had my last tutoring session with Zoe and Rina. This made me very sad, because I have enjoyed tutoring them so much! Upon arrival at their house, Zoe told me that it was her birthday. Despite this, she was still so eager to learn.
We began our tutoring session by reading a story. The girls each chose a book from their bookshelf and read it aloud to me. I was so proud of them because they made very few pronunciation mistakes and were very engaged in the stories! We then worked on reading comprehension, and both girls got every single question right. We finished the session by taking turns reading another story from their shelf.
I have definitely noticed Zoe and Rina improving throughout our tutoring sessions. As time went on they made less and less mistakes. Despite being bilingual, I feel like Zoe and Rina read and speak at appropriate levels for their ages. They were such a joy to tutor, and I will miss them very much!
