Today I met with Claire. Before the session, Claire's mother asked if we could focus on writing sentences. We started out our session by writing the word SPRING down the side of a sheet of paper. We then wrote a sentence that started with each letter about spring that. After this, we played a game that I found on the internet. The game would scramble words in a sentence, and Claire would have to reorder them to form a complete sentence. After this, we read a book about the circus. Claire had a great time reading this book and learning new words. We ended our session by drawing a picture of the circus with animals and acts we saw in the book. Claire then wrote a few sentences about our pictures.
Today Claire did a great job at writing sentences, with only 1-2 mistakes total. She got a perfect score on the computer game too. During the reading, she struggled on some larger words, which I helped her sound out. When Claire writes too quickly she makes a lot of mistakes, but when we go back to correct, she realizes them almost immediately and is able to correct them.
