Mohammed and I worked on reading today. Reading seems to be one of the more difficult aspects to grasp of the English language, since you have to know the words and comprehend their meaning in the sentences. I decided to share my sport of Water Polo with Mohammed. We read a wiki article about the sport and how it is played. Mohammed didn’t have any trouble reading this, but need some clarification on the rules. To help him understand the sport better, I showed him a few videos, this also helped with his listening skills. Afterwards I gave him a writing prompt to compare and contrast water polo and soccer, since soccer is his favorite sport. Mohammed wrote for about 5 minutes and then we went over what he wrote. Their were a few mistakes in spelling and grammar, but aside from that his response was well written.
