Shuo has started a new session and thus has to do a new presentation. This one is an "elevator speech" about a prospective employer. Shuo wanted help with this presentation but she hadn't choose a job to apply for yet, so we discussed some possible jobs and then moved on to TOEFL speaking exercises.
Shuo is definitely improving improving with these TOEFL exercises, but it is difficult to explain how she should be trying to outline her speech in the short time she has. Instead, she seems to write down random ideas and does not concentrate on organizing them. Then the 15 second prep time is up and she must speak and her speech sounds unorganized, too. I think in the future we will slow everything down and concentrate on getting her organizational skills together.
