Feedback provided to tutee:TOEFL exercise
Met with Shuo again. She wants to work mostly on TEOFL materials, so we did more impromptu speaking exercises.
Shuo is at the level where she had a good breadth and depth of English skills, but she does still have a lot of anxiety about speaking English and I believe this holds her back. I think these TOEFL exercises help, because she knows that she should just start talking. I feel like it's hard to work on speaking at this level because the student is advanced enough to formulate full conversations, etc. but sometimes runs into problems with schema, pronunciation, etc. I did notice that she got better as the session went on, so she probably just needs practice.
