Milton_TP_#14
Student Name: Ramon Matos
Date: Monday, March 2-2015
Location: 680 West Virginia, Apt 28.
Skill – Reading and Speaking
I made Ramon read a story called “Roly-Poly Pill Bugs”. Is
about 250 words. Every time he made a pronunciation error or an enunciation
error, I called his attention and made a correction. He repeated the correction several times,
slowly but gradually he was becoming aware of the correct pronunciation. Words
like bug, snakes, wander, earthworms, sprinkler, and eggs caused him a
lot of difficulty. I demonstrated many time the correct pronunciation and he
repeated after me.
Ramon is an excellent student and with patience and
practice he can become a fluent English speaker. I encourage him not to give up
and continue talking with people in CIES, at the store, anywhere. He is not shy
and his determination will help him accomplish his goal. Gradually his
pronunciation will improve and not to worry about his accent.
Lesson Learned: I need to be prepared to help people at different levels of language learning. Having material on my bag for different levels will help me be a better teacher of English. I enjoyed working with people of different cultures.
