Last Thursday I met with Dalal again. I enjoy meeting with her. I know I am her tutor and should be mostly teaching her and working on English, but she seems to be more like a conversation partner sometimes because we talk a lot about many different things like her home and her experiences as well as mine. After talking for a little I asked her about the Harry Potter mini book I gave her, and she said she still hadn't gotten a chance to read it. I think she just doesn't like that genre at all, she told me she had read a few online articles which are more academic. We talked for a little about the test she is going to be taking soon, very similar to the TOFEL but she said it is easier, just like the SAT and ACT. She said the hardest part for her is the writing. We worked for a little while on some of the stuff she has in her CIES book. I had her read one of the pages, and write a few sentences about it. She is a very slow writer and makes a few spelling errors almost every sentence. They are all very small, like forgetting to add an "e" at the end or not making a word plural. We went over her mistakes, which she knew which words were spelled wrong before I even told her. She is a very smart girl and I enjoy our tutoring sessions together.
