My tutoring session with Maria and Eduardo was really good on Wednesday. At first they were sort of at a loss as to what they wanted help with. I could tell that they were really tired because of their exams, and they told me they always had a lot of homework. I encouraged them and tried to motivate them, explaining that I knew learning another language was hard work.
Eduardo had a test the next day so I encouraged him to show me what he would be tested on. He had an exam on noun clauses, adjective clauses, connectors, active and passive voice. He seemed to be in a better mood after we went over everything and had a better understanding of it. I felt really accomplished because I was able to explain to him all of these concepts. They also told me that had to do a lot of reading for their class, so I found Harry Potter online for free and encouraged them to read it. I think that we definitely made some progress on the grammar topics and most importantly, I encouraged them, in the midst of all their studying.
