Katelyn_TP_#5

On January 22nd, I went to Zoe's house for tutoring. We talked about science--she's a real whiz kid when it comes to space--before I gave her a quick worksheet I found online. It dealt with negatives, and I had her match negatives while saying them aloud. We went over some vocabulary that she didn't know, like "cheap," "expensive" and "negative" with "positive," before moving onto a reading exercise. She read "The Berenstain Bears go on Vacation" out loud to me, slowly. We went over words that she had trouble pronouncing, such as "tackle," by sounding them out by the syllables. I also pointed to objects in the pictures and had her identify what they were called, and explained the difference between a bay and the ocean. She loves the Berenstain Bears, so she had a great time reading to me. She did a great job reading, and she could answer my comprehension questions well. I'm seriously impressed by how clever she is.
Unfortunately, I found out afterwards that Zoe was supposed to do her reading comprehension books, so from now on we will work solely on those activities...
