Zoe TP #6
It's that time of week again--time to meet with Rina! Like I said in my previous post, I've certainly been looking forward to our meetings every week. Typically, I will spend the first few minutes of each session catching up with Rina's family, because they are so lovely, and I think that they enjoy the opportunity to practice their English! I was wearing my mathematical Christmas sweater, which they all appreciated. Since I was wearing a Christmas sweater, Rina wanted me to teach her some words associated with the holiday. I wrote down about ten different words, such as "wreath" and "present," and drew pictures for each. I let Rina color in the pictures, which she was pretty happy about. After that, we did some simple addition problems for her math homework, which I verbally guided her through. At first, she didn't think that she would be able to add up numbers with three digits, but I taught her that it is basically the same as adding up numbers with two digits. She was really excited to be able to do the problems! Rina is very smart and super awesome, and I'm definitely going to miss her when our sessions are over!
