Date/Time: 2/17/15
Location: El Echalee
Topic discussed: Lunch

Since I am having a hard time getting ahold of my conversation partners, I decided to reach out to my tutee Marvin and see if he would just have lunch with me.

We met at CIES and walked over to El Echalee grill. I wanted to take him there because I have Mexican heritage and I believe that restaurant to have the most authentic Mexican food in Tallahassee.

Marvin seemed more at easy than in our previous sessions. He seems to have learned a lot of English in a short while and told me that he is making all As and moving up to the next level for the second session at CIES. We talked about going to the beach and how cold it is now. He told me he was looking for a gym that taught Ju Jitsu, as well. When he could not figure out what he needed to say, he was able to work through and find the right phrasing. I think he has learned quite a bit, but he is a quieter person, so he often give just "yes" or "no" answers.

We had a pleasant lunch and I look forward to meeting with him again.
