I met with Khalwa for about an hour on Sunday after work. She admitted that she hadn't been working on her reading on The Secret Life of Bees, but that she had ordered it on Amazon so that she can take her time reading it. She said that we need to start looking up a 5-page article to write a 1-2 page summary on, and since she'll be going into Public Health I suggested we work on a health-related article. Unfortunately, we weren't able to login to the off-campus library resource site, but we will do it sometime this week on FSU campus.
We started trying to write down notes, but she was having issues with her spelling of the word "weight." I explained the rule "i before e, except after c; unless with neighbor and weigh." She really liked this idea and wanted to learn a few more rules. She also had a collection of papers with prefixes, suffixes, Greek root words, and Latin root words. We went through these over and over, and I attempted to point out the words and affixes that (to me) are used most often.
