Zoe TP #5

My tutoring sessions with Rina (the elementary-aged girl from Korea) are great, and I've started to really look forward to them! I think that she really enjoys getting to practice her English, because her mom said that she was worried that her daughter wasn't speaking too much in school. I think that this is interesting, because Rina is such a chatterbox when I tutor her! She's been super into coloring lately, and I noticed that she was having some problems with the activities in her homework that required her to work with basic shapes. With this in mind, I created a little activity for her to identify, describe, and yes, color, basic shapes. She enjoyed this, but I think that she would enjoy any activity that involved coloring! I've also noticed that Rina has exceptional spelling skills! For example, she was effortlessly able to spell words like "rectangle" and "octagon." She is extremely smart for a first grader, and it is such a pleasure to work with her!
