Zoe TP #3
My second meeting with Rina went pretty well! We finished her homework early this time, so we spent the majority of the session reading and writing. We wrote a funny little story about a bear and a butterfly becoming friends. It was actually pretty adorable. I did run into a potential problem about halfway through the lesson, because Rina started to repeat everything that I was saying. I understand that she's only five, so I was kind of expecting something like this to happen. I was able to think on my feet and turn what could have been an annoying situation into a useful lesson--I began using more advanced vocabulary words (such as the words "opinion" and "annoying") and kept repeating the words until she got the pronunciation right. Eventually she stopped, and we were able to continue writing our story about the bear and the butterfly. All and all, it was a productive lesson. She's a super creative girl, and I'm really lucky to have her as my conversation partner!
