Docster TP #1

During my first tutoring session with Ali, we briefly got to know each other in an informal way. Then I asked him some questions about his experiences at CIES, his classes, and where he felt he needed the most improvement. He had a midterm exam the following day so we worked on some exercises that he felt he had struggled with. We worked on reading comprehension by having Ali read through a brief piece on energy (from his textbook), and then summarize what he just read aloud. After he was able to summarize the text aloud, we worked on a composition that gave a brief summary of what he read. He felt happy with his improvement so we moved on to some listening exercises. I found some level appropriate dialogues on the internet and quizzed Ali on their content after reading them aloud. I am meeting with him again soon and hope to hear that he did well on his exam!
