I met Friday with Yunseo. She immediately asked me if we could do the Clifford activity again today, which we were but at the end. Sometimes she has trouble focusing, she would rather play with her pencils or new changing color pencil than read from her book or write sentences. She definitely likes reading better when I read a page and then she reads a page, well do this 2-3 times so she is actually reading a lot more when we do this. I noticed the first time I read she went straight to her new colored pencil and didn't pay attention too much, so I started asking her questions on what I read and she got the messaged and listened more to the other pages. I like do this because she's working on reading, listening, and speaking when I ask her questions and she answers out loud. She also works on writing because I have her write a few sentences about what we've read and what she's going to read in the rest of the book. We did some more timed writing and Ive learned when I encourage her as she's writing ("..yeah keep going you're doing so great, keep writing fast only 30 seconds left!") she will write faster. We moved on to the Clifford listening video to have her fill in the missing words. She often spells words wrong, but usually she has a good idea about which word is wrong. It also has been helping when I make her read what she wrote out loud, it lets her see if she missed a word or if a word sounds wrong. We didn't finish Clifford again, so maybe I will start with that next time!
