Docster TP #4

I met with my tutee Meshari for the first time this weekend. We had some miscommunication when trying to meet, since we decided to go to the Starbucks on Tennessee St., and I forgot that there were actually two locations. We were able to rectify the error, and ended up going to campus. We talked a little bit about ourselves, how Meshari liked America, what his aspirations were, and how he was doing at CIES. He has a grammar quiz this week, and was confused about adjective clauses and their usage. So we came up with a paragraph in which he talked about his home and family using adjective clauses. I gave some examples, and covered up the adjective clauses in my sentences so that he could see that the sentence still should make sense without the descriptive clause. He got it within about fifteen to twenty minutes, and even told me "You're a good teacher," which was very motivating. We continued to work on his paragraph and more examples until time ran out. Next session I will aid Meshari in his preparation for final exams.
