Meredith CP #2

My first meeting with my conversation partner was on Friday afternoon, January 16th. His name is Ahmed and I met up with him, along with my roommate, at Atomic Coffee. It was my first time meeting him so we just talked about the basics. He is a Level 1 student, so there was definitely some trouble communicating, but most of it was easy to overcome. Occasionally he had to use Google Translate, but usually one of us could figure it out. He has a pet snake, wants to study medicine, and eventually get a PhD, does not understand the appeal of American football, and says he is having a hard time practicing his English. His roommate is an American FSU student who does not stay in the apartment much, so he can't talk to him. We hung out from 3-4pm and it was fun. He is a nice guy and I was impressed at how much English he has learned in only three months.
