Catherine_TP_#4

I met with Yunseo again on Sunday afternoon. She is such an adorable little girl. She brought with her a different Magic Treehouse Book, they are obviously her favorite. We talked about her weekend and what we both did and about what we were going to be doing for MLK day. We started out by reading a page from her book, and writing a couple sentences about what happened, what she thought was going to happen, and things about the main characters, like who her favorite was. There are mini-activities in the book after a few of the chapters so we worked on a few of those. We took a break for a little bit to draw different scenes from the book. We flipped through to find some pictures, and she chose to draw Annie swimming in the water, while I drew a giant Octopus that is on the front cover of the book. She was very impressed and wanted to take the picture home with her. We did the timed speed writing activity again, where I gave her two minutes and read simple sentences from the book to see how many words she could write, and she got the same as last time. To finish we read another page from the book, and had a short discussion about what she has read so far and how she thinks it will end. I will see her again Friday, probably with another Magic Treehouse Book!
